Wives/Girlfriends who ride

Are there any wives/gfs who ride with their husbands/bfs? If so, what do you do to entertain yourselves?

I used to go with my hubby whenever I could, not all the time because I had a job myself, so I may not be the best one to answer your question. I took lots to read, which I love doing anyway. I watched tv, talked his ear off, (napped alot, and loved it) played handheld poker games, crossword puzzles, etc. I didn't have much trouble keeping myself amused but I also didn't do it week after week. I have a baby now so the trips are pretty short, if at all and I really miss it, i always wished I could go all the time, even if only for awhile. Maybe someday, after the kids are grown and the house is paid for, lol.

It's been awhile since i have gone, (have 3 kids so makes it next to impossible anymore and i don't feel safe all going along) but i used to watch tv, music, video games, SLEEP! lol!
Just like she mentioned above you could read, bring puzzle books, handheld games, or a laptop! I also made sure i had enough stuff to eat. I have a trucker who doesn't like to stop unless completely neccessary. lol. He's gotta be early
I guess you could always amuse yourself by talking on the CB to other truckers...lol
I would say if you cross stitched or knitted, but the ride might be too bumpy for that!

well i work on a journal...helps me get my thoughts out...and i make sure i have lots of film...take tons of pictures...its nice to look back and go..."babe, remember this?" and just to see the different places ive been...and of course, catch up on some much needed "beauty sleep" (lol), and talk my husbands ear off...and for sure childoffireqr...you gotta talk to those other truckers on the cb "c'mon" hee hee people are very interesting arent they?
its been awhile for me as well since ive been on the road, my older child has been in school, and we have no one around to watch my beautiful darlings...
its funny how i want to go out with him, but after a week or two, im done with it all...bless our men with strength...how do they do it?

yes i do,again at last and get a buzz out of hearing the stuff over the cb.when were waiting for aload out,i write letters,read,watch tv and help with his paperwork.theres laundry to do and we often park at walmart or a shopping mall somewhere,so i go browsing.i play solitaire and i find time goes by fairly quickly.i just love seeing all the different places and i find time goes by fairly quickly.i justlove being out there.

I have a journal that i write everything about my trip in,from what time we woke up to what truck stop we stopped at, its really fun to go back a year and read all the things you seen and stuff! i also bring lots of magazines with me, watch movies, play PS2, SLEEP, and of course keep my honey awake

Well I get up when he gets up, cook 3 meals a day-in the microwave in all sorts of horrible road conditions, clean (floors,walls,windows etc.), call for direx when needed, do most of the qualcomm stuff, when we stop to fuel is when I run in and do dishes and get water so I can make coffee, when we stop at a terminal I do laundry. I take pics once in awhile but mostly because I am making a little life on the road / craft pic page.
Also,I read him books and magazines when he's driving and there's nothing good on the radio and somehow I manage to fit in at least an hour (more often it's like 2-3) of time for me to knit. Hence the name.
By the time our day is through I am almost as mentally wore out as he is, I wish I could go sleep in the back during the day!! I have been out here full time since Jan of '04 and have done it this way since day 1.

I bring puzzels,coloring books,or good books to read.Chat on the C.B. I take our photos that need to be organized and try to be them in order. We even bought a X-Box. Yea I know that sounds silly,even at my age (33). But anything to stay busy. If your allowed a pet that helps.Watch T.V. bring movies watch them. I flirt alot with him that keeps down the tension from being in close quarters for so long.If you guys have seperate phones send him a dirty text message, (they like that).

I just started riding with my fiancee. He just got his CDL. I take my game boy along and talk him to death. I just love looking at the scenery.

If you're on the road with a trucker you will ride all day and all night!! LOL

Seriously - I go out in the truck as often as I can. I work full time so I use my leave to go travelling round the country with him. I love looking out of the window at the scenery and sometimes take a camera to video and take photos of the sights that we see. I sometimes buy a magazine. We mess each other about, he winds me up and we laugh a lot. Sometimes I sleep in the bunk when he's driving and that is a good sensation as the cab rocks me. He sings, loudly, I join in when I know the words!! We listen to music that he has downloaded onto the MP3. He winds everyone up on the CB which is really funny. Sometimes when there are letters to write, you know the boring official ones that we all have to do from time to time and the ones you have to write to make your point, I will draft them up while on the road and that way we can both be thinking of things to write and we have drafted up some pretty impressive letters between us. I phone and txt family. Sometimes we take the laptap and we might get an internet connection. We listen to the radio. We play word association games. We talk, about anything and everything, we can both talk, he more than me though, he's got the gift of the gab and is witty with it. I love being in his company, he's a born entertainer and there is never a dull moment. In fact time goes far too quickly and I am back at work far too soon.

when i go i usually take books to read, paperwork that needs to be done that i have been neglecting, play on the ps2, watch movies, talk his ear off, nap when i can, games for the laptop. anything to keep myself busy. oh and i take tons of pictures while i'm out there.
