new trucker girlfriend

Hello, My boyfriend of three years has just started driving he just got done with his training school and left for the road. He has only been gone for a week and I miss him so much already. I am glad that I found this site so I can meet other wivies/gf to keep my mind off of him being gone.

I've been married for 8 years. 2 out of the eight i have lived as a truckers wife. Being a truckers girlfriend or wife can be hard, but it has it's perks. Look at it this way, all those things you wanted to do but he did not want to you can now do without complaint. You will eventually get used to him being gone so long, and this will make your time together even better. i have 2 kids who miss their dad but because of him i don't have to work and we have everything we need and want. Just make sure you have a life of your own!!!! Most new trucker wives make the mistake of just sitting around and waiting for their man to come home. If you do that , it will be a really long and boring life. Good luck to you!

Hey thanks for responding. I am actually in college and that keeps me real busy, so during the day I don't really miss him as much as I do at night.

I am in school too and i found myself in the same situation when my fiance first went over the road. at first the nights are hard especially if your not used to being alone at night. I learned how to knit which is a good hobby to do while lying in bed before falling asleep. in a typical day i go to school til about 2 then i work, although i don't have to it keeps me busy til about 8. I workout after that and by the time my head hits that pillow i'm usually exhausted although if i'm not i knit to keep my mind off being alone. I also started filling the bed w/ pillows at night so i didn't have a big bed all to myself and nobody to share it with things do get better and you don't get as lonely or bored at night. I study a lot and i am working towards my CPA and MBA so i really don't have time to think bout him being gone. Look forward to when he comes home and don't dwell on the time he's gone. keep looking forward with your head up

Hey thank for responding. Yeah I already do the bed think also. I put a pillow beside me and it fills like he is laying beside me. I am going to school for Physical Therapy, so I am pretty busy with homework. But as soon as school gets out for the summer I am taking the semester off and going with him. I am pretty excited!! I always look forward to when he comes home. I can't wait and it makes the whole week go by slow. But I love when I see that big orange truck rolling in the driveway.

He likes it a lot. Schneider lets him come home when he wants he just has to tell him when he wants to. They have let him come home every 2 weeks, except for one time and that is because he was in Seattle, Washington and wouldn't have gotten home in time before it was time for him to leave again. He was out for 3 weeks but then he got 3 days at home. But he likes working for schneider so far.

Wink

Hey Timsbaby,
I forgot to say that I know some of the O/O might be jerks about your man working for Schneider, but that happens a lot; it's like a little sibling rivalry thing between company drivers and O/O. As long as he likes it and is happy, who cares what everyone else has to say. Take care!

Thanks for responding Timsbaby I like to hear from other Schnieder driver's wives. I like to know how things are going for your family as my fiance drives for Schneider also.

Really, My boyfriend has only been driving for them for about 3 months. How long has your fiance been with them? My email is kimb882@mail.friendlycity.net if you ever want to talk.
