Hi everyone,
I am so glad I found this site!!! I am 27, the mother of a wonderful 7 year old boy. And the girlfriend of a truck driver!! I have been dating my boyfriend for over three years and I knew what he did getting into this relationship. I have found it hard to get through some of the nights and to deal with the different from everyone else life style that we have. Even though we live together, I live alone.... aand there is realyl no one in my life that understands adn that I can talk to. When I fell in love him I fell in love hard and he is the only person I want to spend my life with even if this is going to be our life. I am scared, sometimes confused. And I would appreciate someone to talk to and any advice that can be given!! |

hello and welcome, nice to see another Canadian.Your an old pro at putting up with a truck driver if you have been with him for 3 years already. I have been with my hubby for 4 years and only found it really hard for the first few months, but maybe that was because of the company he worked for at the time. The company he is with now is not bad. I feel like I live alone most of the time, except for my 5 month old son, of course, but he can't help out much around the house, lol. He just makes more work. If you want to chat, pm me or email, whatever you wish, you should be able to figure it out from my profile, I think. Hang in there, we all have our bad days! |

Hi! I'm sort of new here, too. I've been visiting this site for awhile and finally decided to register so I could post. My hubby has been otr for the past 11 years. The seperation isn't so bad anymore but the girls I work with tell me that I'm always very happy when Bill is coming home and really quiet when he's going back out on the road. I hadn't realised it was so obvious. And my hat is off to you gals who have small children at home. Bill didn't get into trucking until his factory job of 23 years went south . . . literally and he couldn't find a decent job. By then both of our sons were grown. I can't imagine putting up with the job and raising small children, too. I know, I'd have survived because it's what's we do but still . . . at least we can support and encourage each other. E-mail me anytime you want People say I'm a good listener.
