Ransom

Don't pay the ransom ! I escaped. Thanks Editor for allowing me back. For the old timers who remember me, ( I was the old Rocky Roads host ). I'll be around some and glad to see the old site still here. For those who have joined this site or thinking about it. There's abunch of great folks here. Just jump in and post. Nothing hard about it and I promise I've never had an unwanted e-mail (spam). I saw a couple of new hands wanting to make the plunge. It's not a hard profession to get into. The secret is staying with it and making money. A chimpanzee can steer a rig down the hwy and I think a couple of them passed me IH 40. Of course steeering the rig is just part of the job. I'm sure if that monkey could bump a dock, count the load, sign the bol, do a pretrip, route the route, log the miles, fill out the trip sheet, master the sattlelite computer, deal with the bears, and lets not forget those shipping clerks, warehouse workers, road construction, traffic jams, bad weather, break downs, and backing those beast up. Oh well, yall get my point. Good to be back. Come on back, Rocky.

Hi Rocky, you were never barred from posting (I think). If you were, it was more of a technical glitch than it was a personal issue. As for an explanation as to what really happened, well...

Our forum software was hijacked a little over a year ago and we did significant upgrades immediately following that assault. We upgraded equipment and software on the server, and it threw everything into a ruckus for a while. As I tried to explain to you by email at the time your stories went away -- we were trying to take this site a different direction. Your stories were very entertaining. They are still hosted on the site, we just disabled that section (for now).

If there's anything that we should have learned about life by now it is that it is full of constant changes. But then there's that adage, "The more things change, the more they remain the same..." This site is past due for plenty more positive changes in the way of appearance and content -- it needs to find a new course on today's Internet. My perspective is that the site still belongs to the folks who brave those highways who bring us our goodies so we can enjoy the good life, and to their wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, and family (etc.) who support 'em.
