Howdy, I'm Riley, and I'm going to be hosting some shows that are going to be heard right here on TruckZ.com beginning within the next 30 days. The guys who have been setting this website up still have some legwork to do before I can do my stuff, but I really wish I could do it now.

You see, there's a lot of important things that we could be talking about -- right ow. Oh, like the price of fuel for one. Or how about the Presidential campaign? Who would be the better President for us drivers? McCain? Obama? Clinton? I'm biased, and you'll see once they put an open microphone in front of me.

I've been a west coast driver most of my adult life, based out of Sacramento and making runs up and down I-5 from California to Washington, or Highway 99 through California's San Joaquin Valley, and Highway 101 along some of what has to be some of the prettiest coastline in the world. It may be pretty country, but the highways can be mighty ugly sometimes.

The folks at TruckZ.com are mapping out new routes for me. You see, I'll be taking my show on the road visiting truck stops all across our great nation and talking with all kinds of people on my road trips. I'll talk with drivers, their wives and girlfriends, union bosses, truck stop managers and clerks, well -- a lot of great people out there.

But this site and Trucker's Internet Radio ain't all about me. You see, we're all in this together and we need to hear from you. If you do an occasional podcast that you think should be heard on TruckZ.com, write a note to the Editor! He tells me he's going to reactivate an 800 number where you'll be invited to call and talk about stuff that's happening out there on the roads. None of this means anything without you and your participation.

I was getting ready to do my first show this weekend. It was going to be a good one too. We were going to talk about the cost of fuel and how it affects everybody, not just us drivers. I even had a couple of interesting guests lined-up to talk with me. Then, out of the blue, my former employer called me and made me an offer I dared not refuse.

So, I'm out the door and back on the highway in just a couple of hours. Editor and Mod were upset when I told them. Editor called me back a couple hours later and told me no worries, Chase is going to do what I was supposed to do. All's well that ends well. I may do a podcast or two here if time and my boss permits, so you may still hear me here.

Here's an important update. The stream has been running since Sunday afternoon without any problems and I've been told the site owners are going live as soon as they have programming to fill the gaps. It's just music now and they don't want to play DJ when this thing gets going. They're going to want you to call, hear from you, and run some other really interesting programs.

But not mine because I've been called back to do some long-haul. Conspiracy, or what? About the time I was going to put my two cents worth in, I get to go back out there and make four cents and keep my mouth shut. Or not. You'll hear from me. Count on it.
